Ehwiesmühle from the northeast
The hamlet is about six kilometers east-southeast of Bad Grönenbach and four kilometers southeast of Wolfertschwenden , at the end of a valley between the Rossrücke in the east and the Wintisser Rain in the west, through which the Mühlbach flows. The headwaters of the Mühlbach are located near the Ehwiesmühle. To the north is the community of Wolfertschwenden, to the south of the hamlet Hinterhalde in the Oberallgäu district . Ehwiesmühle can be reached via a cul-de-sac through the Mühlbachtal from Ittelsburg and Wolfertschwenden.
The subsoil of the hamlet and the entire valley consists of the undivided Upper Freshwater Molasse , which was formed in the Miocene , with soils made of clays , silt , marl , sand and partly gravel . The mountain ranges that form the valley consist of an old moraine with terminal moraine ranges from the Mind Ice Age of the Pleistocene . The subsoil of the old moraine consists partly of gravel, gravel, sand, clay and silt, and partly of a conglomerate .
The Ehwiesmühle, first mentioned in 1505, was formerly the power mill of Falken Castle near Ittelsburg.
