Vordergsäng is a hamlet of the Bad Grönenbach Kneipp spa in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria .

The hamlet of Vordergsäng is located around four kilometers southeast of Bad Grönenbach, at an altitude of 810  m above sea level. NHN . It borders on the wasteland of Hintergsäng to the east and Niedergsäng to the west . To the northwest lies the village of Ittelsburg .

geology

The underground of Vordergsäng is divided into two parts. In the western area this consists of the undivided Upper Freshwater Molasse which was formed in the Miocene . The soil consists of clays , silt , marl , sand and partly gravel . The eastern part of Vordergsäng lies on an old moraine with terminal moraine lines from the Mind Ice Age of the Pleistocene . The soil consists partly of gravel and conglomerate , as well as gravel, sand, clays and silt.

history

Vordergsäng is first mentioned in the land register of the Grönenbach / Rothenstein rulership in 1512, in which the von Pappenheimer had goods.

Architectural monuments

There are two castle stables around 300 meters from the hamlet . To the northwest this is the Stumpfbühl stables from the 15th century, to the south in a slightly westerly direction, probably from the 12th century, the Neuittelsburg stables . Only the castle mounds remain from both castle stables.
