Geotopes

At the southern tip of Falken there is a natural Nagefluhfehlsen with outcrops of gravel conglomerates. These were deposited by meltwater from the glacier during the Günze Age . Since the pieces are usually angular and rarely rounded, it can be concluded that the gravel was not transported far and the glacier front was in close proximity. The Nagelfluhfelsen is a registered geotope with the number 778R004. It has a length of 50, a width of 30 and a height of 8 meters. It is assigned to the geological spatial unit of the Iller-Lech region.

history

In the vicinity of Falken, on the ridge of the same name near Ittelsburg, there is a former Celtic refuge and the castle stables ( falcon and cock dance ). Archaeological finds, such as an ax from the Neolithic Age and a hoard of gold and bronze objects from the Bronze Age burial mounds , prove the prehistoric settlement on the Falcon ridge.
