The wasteland is around three kilometers northwest of Bad Grönenbach at an altitude of 710  m above sea level. NN . In a clockwise direction, starting in the north, Schachen borders the hamlets of Heißenschwende (a district of the Kronburg municipality ), Wieslings , Hörpolz , Hohmanns and Fautzen .

Schachen is located on gravel from the Pleistocene Min Ice Age . The subsoil consists of gravel , sand and partly conglomerate .

history

In 1528 the wasteland of Schachen was first mentioned. It belonged to the municipality of Zell until it was incorporated from Zell to Bad Grönenbach in 1972.
