In the Tarrast is a hamlet of the Kneipp spa Bad Grönenbach in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria .

The hamlet is located about three kilometers southeast of Bad Grönenbach at an altitude of 688 m above sea level. NN . In the Tarrast border clockwise, starting from the north, the village of Thal , the hamlet of Schwenden , the hamlet of Schoren in the Oberallgäu district and in the west the village of Ziegelberg in the Unterallgäu district.

In the Tarrast lies the largest trumpet valley in the Allgäu, which was formed in the Upper Pleistocene . The geotope registered with the number 778R003 has a length of 3600 and a width of 700 meters. The height is around 45 meters, it extends over an area of around 2.5 square kilometers. The moraine walls of the Würm Ice Age are cut by an erosion channel. This is also followed by the Kempten (Allgäu) –Neu-Ulm railway line .
Architectural monuments
A mid-section building from 1797 with a half-timbered upper floor and flat saddle roof is listed as a historical monument. The economic part of the building was renewed. To the north of the hamlet there is a late medieval stone cross from Nagelfluh .

The hamlet is connected to the hamlet of Schwenden and the village of Ziegelberg in an east-west direction by a road. From north to south, a road connects In der Tarrast with the village of Thal and Schoren in the Oberallgäu district. The railway line runs in the area of the hamlet parallel to the road from north to south.
