Großburgk is a district in the Burgk district of the Saxon major district town of Freital in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .
geography
Großburgk lies in the east of the Freital city area. To the west borders Neudöhlen at, in the south of Windberg and small Burgk . In the north there are Potschappel , Zschiedge , Birkigt and Gittersee . In the east, Cunnersdorf and Kleinnaundorf join. Part of the route of the Windbergbahn runs over the area of Großburg and Kleinburgk.
history
The place Großburgk was first mentioned in 1168. In 1378 administrative affiliation was with Castrum Dresden, from 1590 with the Dresden office . In 1551 the manor Burgk exercised the manorial rule . From 1856 to 1875 Großburgk belonged to the Döhlen court office and later to the Dresden administration . In 1912 Großburgk merged with Kleinburgk to form the new municipality of Burgk. After Zschiedge was added in 1915, in 1924 it became a district of the city of Freital, which was founded in 1921. Großburgk did not become a separate district of the new city, it remained assigned to Burgk and only exists as a district.
