Großburgk is a district in the Burgk district of the Saxon major district town of Freital in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

geography

Großburgk lies in the east of the Freital city area. To the west borders Neudöhlen at, in the south of Windberg and small Burgk . In the north there are Potschappel , Zschiedge , Birkigt and Gittersee . In the east, Cunnersdorf and Kleinnaundorf join. Part of the route of the Windbergbahn runs over the area of ​​Großburg and Kleinburgk.

history

The place Großburgk was first mentioned in 1168. In 1378 administrative affiliation was with Castrum Dresden, from 1590 with the Dresden office . In 1551 the manor Burgk exercised the manorial rule . From 1856 to 1875 Großburgk belonged to the Döhlen court office and later to the Dresden administration . In 1912 Großburgk merged with Kleinburgk to form the new municipality of Burgk. After Zschiedge was added in 1915, in 1924 it became a district of the city of Freital, which was founded in 1921. Großburgk did not become a separate district of the new city, it remained assigned to Burgk and only exists as a district.
