Großenbach is the westernmost district of the city of Bad Laasphe in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The village has about 50 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Großenbach lies on the main ridge of the Rothaargebirge at 590 m to 625 m above sea level. NHN . It is therefore one of the highest districts of Bad Laasphes, comparable to Heiligenborn and Sohl . The village is around 11 km (as the crow flies ) from the city center. The Siegquelle , from which the Sieg rises, is located about 500 m west of Großenbach . The Eder and Lahn springs are also in the immediate vicinity , and the small Lahn tributary, Großenbach, has its origin directly to the south .
Due to its exposed location, Großenbach has been able to retain its original rural and natural character to this day.

The place is first mentioned in a document in 1344. From 1662 it had 3 houses and belonged to the Feudingen mayor . Belonging to the parish of Feudingen is documented around 1720. Until the implementation of the Sauerland / Paderborn law on January 1, 1975, the village was an independent municipality.

The Rothaarsteig and other long-distance hiking trails lead past Großenbach in the immediate vicinity. In winter there are often ideal conditions for cross-country skiing. The Landgasthof zur Siegquelle and the Aukopf Hut are in the village .
Transport links
Grossenbach can be reached via a spur road that branches off to the west of the village near the Siegquelle , which is passed by Rothaarsteig, from Eisenstrasse ( Lützel - Lahnhof ), which is part of Landesstrasse 722 there .
