The Guam Football Association (GFA) is the association of Guamian football clubs. It was founded in 1975. The association joined the Asian Football Confederation in 1992 and has been a member of FIFA since 1996 .

Guam is culturally influenced by the USA and therefore not a country of football . Football in Guam is still an amateur sport. It wasn't until 2009 that the men's national soccer team achieved their first victory since joining FIFA. Mongolia was defeated 1-0 . In 2005 the team lost 0:21 against North Korea . It was also the biggest defeat of a national association of the AFC . So far, the association has not been able to qualify for the finals of a major international tournament.

Former President Richard Lai was banned for life by FIFA in 2017 for bribery and corruption.

Guamian football championship

Main article: Guam League

The Guamian Football Championship is the most important national title in both men's and women's football. The men's soccer championship has been played since 1990. The first title holder was the University of Guam, the record champion is Guam Shipyard. For women, the championship is played in three different ways. In spring, a championship with 7 field players per team is held on a small playing field. During the summer, 11 players will be played as usual on large fields. This is followed by an indoor championship. There are a total of seven women's teams in the league.

Guamian Futsal Championship

The association has held a national futsal championship for men and women since 2005 . Reigning masters of the gentlemen are the Strykers .
