history

In 1531 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Hage". The name is derived from the Middle High German word "hac", which means "surrounded by thorn bushes". In the middle of the 17th century, Rittmeister Bleymann von Birnbaum described Haag as "completely deserted and gone" as a result of the Thirty Years' War . From 1643 to 1679, Haag was still deserted (there were only three hearths again in 1651).

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 4 properties in Haag (2 half-farms with sheep, 1 half- height , 1 good). The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff Neustadt an der Aisch . All properties had the Brandenburg-Bayreuth monastery office Münchsteinach as landlord .

As part of the municipal edict , Haag was assigned to the Gutenstetten tax district formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the Gutenstetten rural community . As a special local community, however, Haag was not granted a right to Gutenstetten community property in a legal dispute in 1894.
