The breakpoint Eschborn South is next to the train stations Eschborn and Niederhöchstadt one of three S-Bahn - breakpoints in the Hessian town of Eschborn . It is only served by lines S3 and S4 of the Rhein-Main S-Bahn .
history
In the course of the commissioning of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn network on May 28, 1978, the Kronberger Bahn , which runs through Eschborn, was also included. When the S-Bahn opened, the Eschborn Süd stop in the south of the city of Eschborn went into operation. This is primarily used to develop the Eschborn banking and office area and is therefore heavily frequented during rush hour .
Since the opening of the stop, it has been served by the S-Bahn lines S3 and S4, initially to Frankfurt Hauptwache , today to Langen (S4) or Darmstadt Hbf (S3).
From 2007 to 2008, the stop was rebuilt and expanded to make it barrier- free.
At the beginning of June 2015, an asylum seeker was hit by an approaching S-Bahn near the Eschborn Süd stop. In the past few years, people from trains were recorded at this point several times.
