Hans Georg Woldeck von Arneburg

Hans Georg Woldeck von Arneburg (born April 6, 1712 on Storkow ; † January 4, 1785 ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the cuirassier regiment No. 4 and heir to Storckow.

His parents were the heir of Storckow and Rohrbeck Christoph Friedrich Woldeck von Arneburg and Eleonore Margarethe von Krusemark.

Military career

Hans Georg was taught in Berlin and joined the Gensdarmes regiment in 1731 as a flag junior . He became a cornet in 1735 and a lieutenant in 1738. King Friedrich Wilhelm I successfully sent him to the Reich for advertising . During the First Silesian War , he was attacked in April 1742 in the village of Schorwitz near Olomouc. He could hold on so well that he received the order Pour le Mérite for it . In the Battle of Thrush , the horse was shot under him. For his bravery, Arneburg was promoted to staff officer while still on the battlefield . In 1748 he received his own company and in 1756 became a major .

In the Seven Years' War he took part in the Battle of Lobositz on October 1, 1756 . After all the superior officers had been killed or wounded in the battle, Arneburg was given the task of leading the regiment to the winter quarters as ad interim commander . In the battle of Rossbach he was able to distinguish himself again and was promoted out of turn to lieutenant colonel. In the battle of Zorndorf he commanded a brigade made up of the "Prince Heinrich" cuirassier regiment and the "Margrave Friedrich" cuirassier regiment . During these fighting, Arneburg was wounded in the left thigh by a falconet bullet . In 1759 he became a colonel and, after the Battle of Torgau in 1760, regimental commander.

After the war, Woldeck was appointed major general in 1764 and received the "Schmettau" cuirassier regiment. On June 11, 1769 he received his desired farewell and a pension of 1,500 thalers. Woldeck von Arneburg died in 1785.

He took part in the battles of Mollwitz , Hohenfriedberg , Soor, Lobositz, Roßbach, Leuthen , Torgau, Zorndorf and Liegnitz .

family

He married on November 14, 1748 in the Berlin garrison community Luise Margarethe le Chenevix de Beville († March 23, 1805), daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Heinrich le Chenevix de Beville and his wife Susanne de Montolieu, baronne de Saint-Hippolyte. The couple had two sons and five daughters, of whom one son and one daughter survived their parents, including:

  • Karl Christian Kasimir Heinrich (born September 11, 1757, Berlin; † April 14, 1813), District Administrator ⚭ 1787 Dorothea Auguste Sophie von Werdeck (1770–1843), daughter of the state director Friedrich Karl Ferdinand von Werdeck and granddaughter of Ernst Ferdinand von Werdeck .
