Hans Loidl

Hans J. Loidl (* 1944 in Allentsteig ; † 2015 ) was an Austrian landscape architect and author .

Life

Loidl first studied forest sciences in Vienna and then began studying landscape architecture in Vienna and Copenhagen . After completing his studies, Loidl founded an office for landscape architecture in 1974. In 1984 Loidl founded the landscape architecture office Atelier Loidl in Berlin . After a stroke, Loidl had to sell his office to some of his employees, Leonard Grosch, Bernd Joosten and Lorenz Kehl in 2005 and was retired.

He died at the beginning of 2015. The landscape architecture office he founded continues to operate under the name "Atelier Loidl".

Teaching

In 1976, Hans worked for the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where he taught landscape architecture until 1984. In 1982 Loidl joined the Technical University of Berlin as a professor of landscape architecture specializing in object planning and design.
