history

Zschockau was mentioned in 1267 as "Schacowe". In the 15th century the place was desolate , only in 1493 was the repopulated place called "Schacka". The manor over Zschockau exercised the manor Mechelgrün upper and lower parts until the 19th century . Since 1791 an individual property has been mentioned on the Harzberg that originally belonged to Mechelgrün. In the 19th century a scattered settlement developed , which was partly on the corridors of the places Zschockau and Trieb / Vogtl. lay. Zschockau was until 1856 in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Plauen court office and in 1875 with the Plauen administration .

On October 1, 1934, Zschockau was incorporated into the municipality of Mechelgrün. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Zschockau became part of the Mechelgrün community in 1952 and became part of the Plauen-Land district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Plauen district" from 1990 and 1996 rose in the Vogtlandkreis. Since the incorporation of the municipality of Mechelgrün into Neuensalz on January 1, 1996, Zschockau has belonged to the Neuensalz district of Mechelgrün.
