The Crew 2 is an open world - racing game from the house of Ivory Tower and by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows , PlayStation 4 and Xbox One published. The Crew 2 is the successor to The Crew released in 2014 . The video game allows the player to control a wide variety of vehicles including cars, motorcycles, boats, and planes. The game was released on June 29, 2018.
Gameplay
Similar to its predecessor The Crew , The Crew 2 is a racing game. In the game, players take control of a relatively unknown racing driver who tries to successfully assert himself in several disciplines. It offers a persistent open world for racing and free driving around a stripped-down representation of the adjacent United States . In addition to the cars that could be driven in the predecessor, players can also control planes, motorcycles and boats. Each vehicle has its own control physics, which means that the gameplay will be different as players control different types of vehicles. The game offers four different hub worlds, each with their own theme and style of play. These topics include off-road, road racing, pro racing and freestyle. An adaptation of the vehicles is also possible in the game. There is the direct adaptation of a vehicle by exchanging optical parts. Own so-called "foils" have a sticker stuck on. Since the "Blazing Shots" update, there is also tire smoke, colored nitro and various tires. Similar to the first game, great emphasis is placed on multiplayer. It also features a cooperative multiplayer mode that allows players to take part in various rally raid events. This mode can also be played alone with artificial intelligence .
development
The Crew 2 was developed by Ivory Tower, a subsidiary of the publisher Ubisoft . Parts of the development were based on the feedback they had received on the predecessor. One of the main criticisms was that players didn't have enough freedom to explore the world and complete missions. To solve the problem, Ubisoft revamped the game's progression system and decided not to focus on narrating the game, which would force players to complete missions in a specific order, and instead split the game into multiple hub worlds, one at a time represent unique driving style. Players can stay in these hubs to play the missions that interest them and not have to force themselves to visit other hubs to play missions that do not interest them.

To get players of its predecessor to return to The Crew 2 , Ubisoft implemented a rewards program that allowed users to unlock up to 19 cars if they reached certain milestones in The Crew before their successor is released. Plus, all The Crew players will automatically receive the 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale after the game is released. In addition, the publisher announced the touring car version of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 2017 as pre-order bonuses, while players who order the Deluxe or Gold Edition will receive additional vehicles.
