The local mountain is 582.2 m above sea level. NHN high, wooded elevation of the Franconian Alb low mountain range in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen ( Bavaria ).

location
The local mountain is located in the Altmühltal Nature Park directly east of Siebeneichhöfe , a district of Treuchtlingen . Somewhat away are Freihardt in the north and Ober- and Unterheumödern in the northeast, further districts of Treuchtlingen. The border to the Swabian district of Donau-Ries with the local community of Wolferstadt runs about 600 m west of the summit . On the local mountain, which rises in the Grottenhof forest area , there are parts of the nature reserve protection zone in the Altmühltal nature park ( CDDA no. 396115; designated 1995; 1632.9606 km² ).
To the north of the local mountain lies the Kirschbühl and to the northeast the Moselstein with the Rohrach flowing beyond both elevations . The Uhlberg rises in the southwest , and the Kühberg is a south-southwest foothill of the Hausberg .
Natural allocation
The mountain is part of the natural landscape feature unit group Franconian Jura (no. 08), in the main unit Southern Frankenalb (082) and in the subunit Altmühlalb (082.2) for the natural area of the Upper Altmühlalb (082.22).
