Haxthausen is part of the municipality of Freising in Upper Bavaria.

Haxthausen is about 6 km southwest of Freising on a hill on the edge of the Munich gravel plain and the Freisinger Moos . Sünzhausen is about a kilometer north . In the east, Lageltshausen lies in the south, Pallhausen , both parts of the municipality of Freising. To the west is Sickenhausen, part of the Kranzberg community .

From 1818 Haxthausen was part of the community of Sünzhausen . As part of the municipal reform , Sünzhausen lost the status of a politically independent municipality and Haxthausen was incorporated into the city of Freising on July 1, 1972 as part of the municipality of Sünzhausen.
