Heinrich Glas

Heinrich "Heiner" glass (* 1. September 1942 in Prüfening , today part of Regensburg ) is a German sculptor and draftsman .

Life

Heinrich Glas is the brother of the Regensburg painter and draftsman Hans Josef Glas .

He completed his sculpture studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1964 to 1970 under Josef Henselmann with a master class diploma. Subsequently, he was class leader at the state vocational school for wood sculptors in Oberammergau until 1977 and has since worked as a freelance artist in Nittendorf - Undorf .

Since 1966 his works have been shown in various group and solo exhibitions, including in other European countries, including in the Haus der Kunst in Munich, in the Regensburg city gallery " Leerer Beutel ", in the Wasserburg gallery in the "Ganserhaus" of the working group 68 , in the Chamer “Cordonhaus” Cham, in the Upper Palatinate artist house “Kebbel-Villa” in Schwandorf and in the Hesperidengarten, a garden center with event location in the 400 year old post office of Wenzenbach . Since 1996 he has taken part in the Great East Bavarian Art Exhibition (GOK) of the BBK Niederbayern / Oberpfalz several times .

Works can be found in the Bayerische Staatsgalerie in Munich, in Aberdeener Duthie Park, in the collection of the Sparkasse Regensburg , on the Kumpfmühler Bridge in Regensburg and on the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal in Kelheim s. Photo (“Sculpture House”, 1992). He also created the Deocar fountain in Herrieden from 1983 to 1985 . At the intersection of Siemensstrasse and Straubingerstrasse in Regensburg, since 1988 his “Memorial at the High Cross” has been commemorating 700 Soviet prisoners of war who were the victims of brutal forced labor and inhuman living conditions during World War II . In 1992 he created a cast iron sculpture on the banks of the Danube in Ingolstadt , in 1998 a large sculpture in the central library of the University of Regensburg , in 2005 a steel sculpture at the Comenius-Gymnasium Deggendorf , in 2006 a steel sculpture in Bogen and in 2011/2012 a steel sculpture for the "Wohnpark Neue Mitte" in Asbach- Trees home .

His wife Bettina Glas is a painter and object artist. They use their studio in Undorf for smaller jobs. For larger work they have been using a multi-storey barn in the Nittendorf industrial park since 1986, which they dismantled at the Regensburger Karthäuser Hof and rebuilt with practical changes in Nittendorf.
