Heinz Hellmich (actor)

Heinz Hellmich (born March 11, 1924 in Weimar , † 2009 in Berlin ) was a German actor .

Life

From 1945 to 1948, Heinz Hellmich attended the State University for Music , Drama Department and the newly founded German Theater Institute (DTI) Weimar Belvedere Palace in his hometown . After graduating, he stayed at the DTI as a member of Maxim Vallentin's master class and as an assistant director. Here he also worked from 1950 to 1952 as an actor in the institute ensemble (Das Junge Ensemble), which in 1952 formed the basis for the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. Heinz Hellmich stayed at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater until 1958 to work at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam from 1958 to 1962 . In 1956 he started as a teacher of acting at the Academy of Film and Television in Babelsberg to act. In 1962 he switched to the State Drama School in Berlin . There he built up the new puppetry department at the end of the 1960s. From 1976 to 1979 he was director at the Rostock State Drama School . Back at the State Drama School in Berlin, Heinz Hellmich took over the acting department there in 1979. In 1983 he became a visiting professor at the Havana Academy of Art , in 1985 at the New Delhi Theater Academy and in the early 1990s in Stuttgart . He was appointed professor in 1983.

Heinz Hellmich was married to the pianist Helgamaria Hellmich since 1950.
