Heinz Peter Volkert

Heinz Peter Volkert (born October 22, 1933 in Koblenz ; † April 23, 2013 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Volkert studied law , Romance studies and history at the universities of Bonn , Freiburg , Mainz and Aix-en-Provence from 1953 to 1958 . In 1961 he completed postgraduate studies at the Speyer School of Administration and the University of Luxembourg . After the first and second state examination (1958, 1963), he was in 1963 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz with a thesis on the presidency of the Fifth Republic of France to Dr. jur. utr. PhD . At first he was a research assistant for labor law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , but in 1963 he entered the higher administrative service at the Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement .

From 1975 to 1996 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . From 1979 to 1985 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group with responsibility for culture, agriculture, law and social affairs.

From 1985 to 1991 he was President of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament.

In addition to various other positions, he was chairman of the state board of trustees Indivisible Germany (1985–1991) and in 1990 president of the IPR (Interregional Parliamentary Council Lorraine-Luxembourg-Wallonia-Saarland-Rhineland-Palatinate). From 1991 to 1996 Volkert was Vice-President of the State Parliament and a member of the standing committee of the IPR. From 1992 to 1998 he was a member of the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament.

Volkert has been a lecturer at the University of Koblenz-Landau since 1996 .

Heinz Peter Volkert had been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1955. Rhenania-Moguntia Mainz in the CV . He was the nephew of the Rhineland-Palatinate Prime Minister Peter Altmeier .
