Hermann Robert Knothe

Hermann Robert Knothe (born October 25, 1815 in Urdenbach , † December 21, 1892 in Grottkau ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Hermann Robert was the son of the Prussian Rittmeister Georg Friedrich August Knothe (1788–1849) and his wife Karoline Luise, née Wehrwein (1792–1852).

Military career

Knothe visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . He was then transferred to the 6th Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a second lieutenant without a patent on August 7, 1832 . On November 1, 1832, he received the patent for his rank and graduated from the United Artillery and Engineering School by 1834 . After successful completion, Knothe was appointed artillery officer on December 27, 1834 and sent to the General War School for further training from 1837 to 1840 . He was then transferred to the 5th Artillery Brigade on December 27, 1842 with a patent from October 3, 1830 and promoted to Prime Lieutenant on April 4, 1843 . Knothe was promoted to captain at the end of January 1849 and on August 3, 1850 came from the square to the Cosel Fortress as an artillery officer . With a patent dated February 12, 1847, he was transferred to the 1st Artillery Regiment on August 3, 1854 as battery chief .
