Hermann Robert Knothe (born October 25, 1815 in Urdenbach , † December 21, 1892 in Grottkau ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Hermann Robert was the son of the Prussian Rittmeister Georg Friedrich August Knothe (1788–1849) and his wife Karoline Luise, née Wehrwein (1792–1852).

Military career

Knothe visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . He was then transferred to the 6th Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a second lieutenant without a patent on August 7, 1832 . On November 1, 1832, he received the patent for his rank and graduated from the United Artillery and Engineering School by 1834 .
