Hermann Scheinecker (born June 2, 1946 on the Weinbergergut in St. Florian ; † April 20, 2020 in Rohrbach-Berg ) was an Upper Austrian Catholic religious priest , pastor in St. Gotthard in the Mühlkreis and Herzogsdorf and regional hunter pastor of Upper Austria .

Life

Hermann Scheinecker was born in 1946 as the youngest of four sons on a farm in St. Florian . After completing his school days at Wilhering Abbey High School , he joined the order of the Augustinian Canons in St. Florian Monastery on August 27, 1965 , and he was ordained priest in 1971 after studying theology in Salzburg . After a short time as a chaplain in Feldkirchen an der Donau , he was appointed in 1972 Chaplain in St. Peter am Wimberg and pastor in Herzogsdorf . From 1988 he also looked after the parish of St. Gotthard in the Mühlkreis .

Scheinecker gained national fame as the state hunter pastor of Upper Austria - this title was awarded to him by the state hunting association in the 1970s - as well as through his close contacts with the state's political and economic elite. He was a regular guest at the regular media-received tarot tournaments at the Haudum Inn in Helfenberg, which , in addition to politicians such as Reinhold Mitterlehner , Josef Ratzenböck , Andreas Khol , Josef Stockinger , Franz Dobusch and Rudolf Streicher, were attended by numerous celebrities from business, sport and culture such as Ludwig Scharinger , Beppo Mauhart , Hans Pum and Lore Krainer count.

In 2003 Hermann Scheinecker was awarded the Golden Merit of the State of Upper Austria . In 2014, together with Barbara Rett and Werner Gruber, he received the Mostdipf Prize, which was awarded for the 100th time this year by Oberösterreichische Nachrichten .
