Hermann Stövesand

Hermann Stövesand (born June 16, 1906 in Bochum ; † December 15, 1992 ) was a German actor .

Life

Hermann Stövesand worked as an engine fitter in Bochum and was already appearing in several amateur theaters at that time. His acting career began on January 30, 1933. So he played Jedermann on an open-air stage in Bochum , where he was discovered. Afterwards I was engaged in Paderborn, Essen, Zittau and Schwerin. After his engagement in Schwerin he went to the Staatstheater Dresden as a character actor at the beginning of the 1950/1951 season . From 1953 he also took on the role of game director. For many years he performed regularly as a guest at the Harz Mountain Theater . He worked in Dresden until 1991. His portrait of Christoph Wetzel can be seen in the ancestral gallery of the Schauspielhaus. He was also hired regularly for film and television roles. At DEFA he acted as a speaker in several animated films.

His sons Reinhold Stövesand (1939–2015) and Christian Stövesand (1944–1991) also took up the profession of actor. His grandson Hermann Schulz (* 1961) became East German figure skating champion in 1981.
