Herrlein (painter family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Herrlein family of painters worked mainly in the 18th century. The geographical focus of their work was in Lower Franconia and the Fulda area . In addition, members of the family worked in Vienna and in what was then the Austro-Hungarian Laibach (now Ljubljana , Slovenia ).

A relationship with the Nördlingen painter Friedrich Herlin , which is sometimes claimed in older literature , cannot be proven. Streets in Aschaffenburg , Bad Kissingen , Bad Königshofen , Fulda , Großbardorf , Großeibstadt , Haibach , Haßfurt , Hosenfeld , Münnerstadt , Schweinfurt and Saal an der Saale are named after members of the Herrlein family .
