Hirokawa ( Japanese 広 川 町 , - machi ) is a city in Yame-gun in the Japanese prefecture of Fukuoka .
history
The Machi Hirokawa was created on April 1, 1955 from the merger of the Mura Kamihirokawa ( 上 広 川村 , -mura ) and Nakahirokawa ( 中 広 川村 , -mura ). On December 1, 1955, parts of the Mura Shimohirokawa ( 下 広 川村 , -mura ) were incorporated.
