Holger Kunkel (born June 16, 1965 in Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Kunkel completed his training at the University of the Arts in Berlin and at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York . His first engagement took him in 1989 to the Wuppertaler Bühnen under the direction of Holk Freytag. In 1991 he received the Critics' Prize for Best Young Actor in North Rhine-Westphalia . Kunkel has been a member of the German Film Academy since 2005 . His international theater work led him a. a. at festivals in Rome, Haifa, Jerusalem, Caracas and B. Aires. From September 2007 to 2012 he was a member of the ensemble of the Grillo Theater in Essen and was a permanent guest at the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Schauspiel Köln from 2010 to 2012. There was intensive collaboration with the directors Paolo Magelli , David Bösch , Anselm Weber , Dieter Giesing and many more. From 2007 to 2012 Kunkel was a lecturer at the Folkwang University of the Arts in the musical course. He has been a member of the Theater Freiburg ensemble since the 2012/13 season. Holger Kunkel has been working continuously as a film actor in national and international film and television productions since 1989.
