The Honda CB 400 Four (type code 377) is a motorcycle model from the Japanese manufacturer Honda . It was presented in 1975 and produced until 1978. The CB 400 Four is part of the Hondas CB range, which comprised motorcycles with an overhead camshaft and displacements between 50 and 750 cc.

The Honda CB 400 Four was a further development of the CB 350 Four , which had a five-speed gearbox. The displacement of the engine (bore: 51 mm stroke: 50 mm Compression ratio: 9.4: 1) was increased, the performance was 27.2  kW / 37 hp at 8,500 min -1 (CB 350 F: 25 kW / 34 hp 9,500 min -1 ) A characteristic was the 4-in-1 exhaust system , the weight saved and the sporty character underlined. A maximum speed of 165 km / h was specified in the brochure. In a test, a speed of 157.9 km / h (solo long-lying) and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.6 s was achieved. The test consumption was about 6.6 l Super 98 RON per 100 km with a tank volume of 14 l (of which 2.5 l reserve).

In the summer of 1976, the Honda CB 400 Four was offered in Germany for DM 4,878 including 11%  sales tax , which is around 6,200 euros today.
