The Honda NTV is an undisguised motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Honda . The naked bike was introduced in 1988 as the successor to the VT 500 E in order to follow up on the success of the CX 500 series. The model code is RC 33. Like the CX, it has a cardan drive and a 647 cm³ liquid-cooled V2 motor in a transverse arrangement. The engine was also installed in other Honda models such as the Transalp , Africa Twin and Shadow and is considered to be durable.
In America, a sister model, the Honda NT 650 Hawk , was sold with chain drive, some of which have also made it to Europe through individual imports. The NTV was built with some modifications until 1997; in 1998 it was replaced by the NT 650 V Deauville . The NTV 650 found around 15,000 buyers in Germany.
