The Honda Transalp was a motorcycle made by the Japanese vehicle manufacturer Honda . The travel enduro was built in four model variants from 1987 to 2012 and had a water-cooled V-engine with two cylinders and six valves.
history
The first prototype was designed in 1985 as an all-terrain motorcycle with a 500 cc engine. Before the market launch, the displacement was increased to 600 cm³ and the vehicle specification changed to a more street-oriented chassis set-up and vehicle trim.
Technology of the XL 600 V (from 1987 to 1999)
The water-cooled two - cylinder engine has an overhead camshaft per cylinder and an angle of 52 ° between the V-shaped cylinders. The bore has a diameter of 75 mm and the stroke is 66 mm. The compression ratio of the four-stroke engine is 9.2: 1 and the displacement is 583 cm³. The front brake has a disc with a diameter of 276 mm, from 1997 double disc brake at the front with a diameter of 256 mm. The telescopic fork with a diameter of 41 mm has a suspension travel of 200 mm and allows limited off-road use on gravel and dirt roads. The rear suspension has a spring travel of 190 mm. The tank has a capacity of 18 liters. Power is transmitted via a multi-plate wet clutch and a 5-speed gearbox. Weight (1987): 204 kg with a full tank.
