The VT 500 E (factory code PC 11) is a more sporty mid-range motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Honda , which was produced from 1983 to 1987. The motorcycle was part of a model family that also included the VT 500 C (PC 08, a " soft chopper ") and the VT 500 FT Ascot (PC 10, sold in North America).
In 1983 the list price was 6,953 DM . Two performance variants were offered:
- 20 kW (27 hp) at 6,000 rpm, 42 Nm at 3,000 rpm and
- 37 kW (50 PS) at 9,000 rpm, 45 Nm at 7,000 rpm
The less powerful variant was throttled by different camshafts , carburetors and manifolds . Other manufacturers also offer power reduction kits from 37 kW to 25 kW (34 PS).
The model was further developed during the construction period . The original version was internally called “VT 500 E D” (1983 to 1984), with chassis numbers beginning with “PC 112000026” (37 kW) or “PC 113000005” (20 kW), the variant after the change received the internal name “VT 500 EF "(1985 to 1987) with chassis numbers beginning with" PC 112100001 "or" PC 113100001 ".

The V-engine has two cylinders with three valves each, overhead camshafts and dual ignition .
Duration
A total of around 4500 units were sold. On January 1, 2015, 1016 were registered in Germany.
