Huang Shih-feng gained his first international experience at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Brixen , where he won the gold medal with a width of 74.00 m. The following year he won at the Junior Asian Championships in Hanoi with 72.43 m, the silver medal and qualified for the Junior World Championships in Moncton , where he was eliminated without a valid attempt in the preliminary round. In 2013 he reached the 13th place in the final at the Summer Universiade in Kazan with 72.84 m and then won the silver medal at the East Asian Games in Tianjin with 82.11 m. The following year he took part in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea for the first time and finished ninth with 74.65 m. In 2015 he won the Asian Championships in Wuhan with a throw of 79.74 m and won the silver medal behind the Estonian Tanel Laanmäe at the Student World Games in Gwangju with 81.27 m . He also took part in the World Championships in Beijing , where he was eliminated with 75.72 m in qualification .
