Paul Heinrich Martin Hugo von Knobloch (born November 10, 1823 in Koenigsberg , † March 15, 1896 in Charlottenburg ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 12th Cavalry Brigade .

Life

origin

Hugo was a son of Heinrich von Knobloch called Freiherr von Hausen-Aubier (1791–1881) and his wife Pauline, née Countess von Kalckreuth (1802–1882). His brother Arthur (1825–1901) was a Prussian district administrator and his sister Alexandra (* 1829) was married to the Prussian infantry general Eberhard von Hartmann .

Military career

After attending the Kneiphöfisches Gymnasium and the military school of Dr. In autumn in his hometown, Knobloch joined the Prussian Army's 2nd Guard-Uhlan Regiment as Ulan on December 21, 1840 and was promoted to aggregate second lieutenant by the end of July 1842 . From mid-June 1844 to the end of July 1847 he was part of the 4th Uhlan Regiment and then the 3rd Cuirassier Regiment , before he was posted there on May 13, 1851. During a command from July 16, 1852 to May 12, 1860 as a squadron leader in the 3rd heavy Landwehr-Reiter-Regiment in Königsberg, Knobloch rose to Rittmeister until mid-April 1858 . Subsequently, he was assigned as a squadron leader to the 4th Combined Uhlan Regiment in Insterburg , from which the Litthau Uhlan Regiment No. 12 was formed in early July 1860 . Knobloch became chief of the 2nd squadron with which he took part in the battles near Trautenau and Königgrätz in 1866 during the war against Austria .

After the war, Knobloch was promoted to major as a regular staff officer in the Dragoon Regiment No. 9 in Osnabrück at the end of October 1866 . When mobilizing on the occasion of the war against France , he was initially commissioned with the command of the Thuringian Uhlan Regiment No. 6 under position à la suite and on July 14, 1870 he was appointed regimental commander. On June 12, 1877, with his regimental uniform and the rank and fees of a brigade commander, he was transferred to the officers of the army and assigned to represent the commander of the 12th Cavalry Brigade in Neisse . Knobloch married Ida von Wernsdorff (1832–1885) on October 18, 1850 . After her death he married Luise Waagen, widowed Jäger, in Berlin. The following children were born from the first marriage:
