Hypnotize -

Hypnotize is the fifth studio album by the American metal band System of a Down . With Hypnotize , the second part of the double album Mezmerize / Hypnotize was released on November 22, 2005.

Music genre

The musical style of the album is very similar to that of its predecessor Mezmerize , which can be explained by the fact that System of a Down wrote the tracks for both albums at the same time. Lead singer and keyboardist Serj Tankian and guitarist and singer Daron Malakian also share the vocal parts on Hypnotize . Accents are set by fast blast beats and the use of double bass . The more unusual keyboard melodies are new and complement the sound spectrum of the band in some songs.

Cover design

The graphic design was again done by Vartan Malakian , father of guitarist Daron Malakian . The design ties in with the Mezmerize, also designed by Vartan, and forms a unit with it. The CD sleeves can therefore also be put together. In addition, the two albums also form a musical unit: Soldier Side , the intro of Mezmerize , is continued on this album as a real song and closes the album or double album.

Versions

The album was released in two different versions: on a normal CD and on a DualDisc . In addition to a documentation about the creation of the double album, the latter also contains the videos BYOB and Question! from the Mezmerize album, as well as the enhanced stereo version of the Hypnotize album.
