IC 1225 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 402 million light years from the Milky Way and about 165,000 light years in diameter .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on July 24, 1889 .
