IC 1205 is a spiral radio galaxy of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 148 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6081 and IC 1199 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on April 8, 1888 .
