IC 1185 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 470 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the Hercules galaxy cluster Abell 2151 .
The galaxies NGC 6050 , NGC 6054 , IC 1178 , IC 1182 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered on June 8, 1888 by Guillaume Bigourdan .
