IC 1173 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SAB (rs) c in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is an estimated 470 million light-years from the Milky Way and is a member of the Hercules galaxy cluster Abell 2151 .
The object was discovered on August 15, 1892 by Stéphane Javelle .
