IC 1182 is an active lens-shaped galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 462 million light years from the Milky Way and about 135,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the Hercules galaxy cluster Abell 2151 .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6045 , NGC 6050 , NGC 6054 , IC 1185 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on August 11, 1892 .
