NGC 6054 = IC 1183 is a 14.3 mag bright lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Hercules in the northern sky . It is an estimated 460 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the Hercules galaxy cluster Abell 2151 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6045 , NGC 6050 , IC 1182 , IC 1185 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 27, 1886 . Due to a different description, Guillaume Bigourdan's observation on June 1, 1888 under IC 1183 led to an entry in the index catalog .
