NGC 6031 is an Open Star Cluster of the Trumpler-Type I2p in the constellation Winkelmess in the southern sky . It has a brightness of 8.5 mag and an angular expansion of 3 arc minutes .

The object was discovered on July 28, 1826 by James Dunlop .
