NGC 6047 is a 13.7  likes bright elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Hercules at the northern sky . It is an estimated 423 million light years from the Milky Way and about 135,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is a member of the Hercules galaxy cluster Abell 2151 .

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6039 , NGC 6043 , NGC 6045 , NGC 6050 .

The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 27, 1886 .
