IC 1218 is a spiral dwarf galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 58 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 15,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1215 and IC 1216 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on July 2, 1888 .
