IC 1220 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Hercules at the northern sky . It is an estimated 446 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on July 21, 1890 .
