IC 3153 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 517 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years across. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 359 as a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster, but it is too far away for that.
Together with NGC 4259 , NGC 4268 , NGC 4270 , NGC 4273 , NGC 4277 and NGC 4281 , it forms the galaxy group Holm 368 .
The object was discovered by Hermann Kobold on April 8, 1894 .
