IC 3955 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 344 million light-years from the Milky Way , about 40,000 ly in diameter, and a member of the Coma Galaxy Cluster .
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4864 , NGC 4865 , NGC 4867 , IC 3968 , among others .
The object was discovered by Hermann Kobold on April 22, 1895 .
