Igor Fonseca Amorelli (born November 1, 1984 in Belo Horizonte ) is a Brazilian triathlete and Ironman winner (2014, 2016).

Career

In 2007, the then 22-year-old Igor Amorelli finished 33rd in the U23 triathlon world championship on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) in the U23 class in Hamburg.

Igor Amorelli starts as a professional triathlete in competitions on the short, medium and long distance.

Winner Ironman Brasil 2014

In May 2014, after 8:07:54 hours in Florianópolis , he was the first Brazilian to win the Ironman Brasil with a personal best (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

On half the Ironman distance, he won the Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico in March 2015. In July 2016, Igor Amorelli won his second Ironman race at the Ironman Maastricht-Limburg in the Netherlands . In April 2017 he won his third race in the middle distance at the Ironman 70.3 Palmas in Brazil.

In May 2018, the then 33-year-old took second place at Ironman Brasil for the second time since 2013.

Igor Amorelli lives in Balneário Camboriú .
