Iku (also: Lone Tree Island ) is an uninhabited tiny island that belongs to the Abaiang Atoll in the Gilbert Islands in the Republic of Kiribati .

geography

Iku is a motu in the southwest of the reef crown. In this area the motu are only very scattered on the top of the reef. Teirio is the closest island in the northwest, while the southwest corner of the main island Teiro with Bolton Point and the village of Tabontebike is about 5 km away in the south . In the top of the reef in between runs the Bingham Channel and the South Canoe Pass .
