Ingrid Jutta Klara Adam (born October 16, 1945 in Greiz ) is a former German walker and German record holder in 5000-meter track walking.

At the first ever German championship for women in walking in 1980 in Achern - Önsbach , Ingrid Adam won the bronze medal in the 5 km street walk . German championships in this discipline were then held until 1986, before they were replaced by the double distance 10 km street walking. Every year Ingrid Adam was able to fight for a DM medal in the 5 km walk, including three first places (1981 in Wolfsburg , 1983 in Bad Kreuznach and 1984 in Bad Krozingen ), two second places (1982 in Ahlen and 1986 in Ichenhausen ) and two third places (1980 in Achern and 1985 in Lippstadt ), but not to continue this series in 10 km walking with fourth place in 1987 in Bremen and seventh place in 1988 in Eschborn . In addition, there was a third place in the team classification of the DM 1984 with the LAV Düsseldorf (teammates Pfeifer and Zimmermann).

For the World Indoor Athletics Games 1985 in Paris ( FRA ), the German Athletics Association (DLV) was awarded a quota of 17 places, but the association nominated Claudia Losch , Carlo Thränhardt , Gerd Nagel , Werner Bastians , Ralf Jaros , Alfons Schwarz and Ingrid Adam like the GDR only seven athletes. After Losch, Bastians and Schwarz lost, Christoph Herle was nominated again. Ingrid Adam reached tenth place in the 3000 meter track walk in 14: 54.67 minutes .

On September 26, 1981, she increased the existing German record of Hannelore Klaus (24: 52.0 min) by four seconds to 24: 48.4 min . The swimming champion was able to improve her record several times, on May 11, 1983 in Ahlen to 24: 47.9 min and on June 5, 1983 in Düsseldorf to 24: 39.18 min . At the age of 39, on May 18, 1984 in Dortmund, she increased her record, which she had in the meantime improved to 24: 33.3 minutes , to 24: 27.5 minutes .

Ingrid Adam set a new German record in October 1984 with a time of 24:01 minutes in the 5 km street walk . Also in the 20-km-road Go achieved German records, each at the "Grand Prix of Gross-Gerau " in the October 20, 1984 h 1:50:43 and on 18 October 1986 h 1:47:41 , a Record improvement by over two minutes.
