International Council for Ski Mountaineering Competitions
The International Council for Ski Mountaineering Competitions (ISMC) was the international council or commission of the Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA) for competitions in ski mountaineering and also in the vertical race . The seat of the ISMC was in Barcelona . The ISMC emerged in 1999 from the Comité International du Ski-Alpinisme de Compétition (CISAC) and was replaced in 2008 by the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF).
ISMC competitions
The races of the World and European Cups lasted around two hours, had a high average gradient and contained technical passages that made it necessary to unbuckle and carry the skis. The ski mountaineering World Cup, which has been held since 2004, continues the tradition of military patrols at the Winter Olympics of 1924 , 1928 , 1936 and 1948 . As a rule, competitions in the vertical race were also held.
- European Cup in ski mountaineering since 1992
- European championship in ski mountaineering since 2001, previously since 1992 by the CISAC
- World championship in ski mountaineering since 2002
- World Cup in ski mountaineering since 2004
