Iwa Prandschewa ( Bulgarian Ива Пранджева , English transcription Iva Prandzheva ; born February 15, 1972 in Plovdiv ) is a former Bulgarian athlete who was successful in the triple jump and the long jump .

Internationally, she made her first appearance at the Junior World Championships in 1990 in her hometown of Plovdiv. There she won the long jump title. At the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo , however, she failed in qualifying.

In the following years she increasingly opted for the triple jump. In this discipline she first won the bronze medal at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart with a width of 14.23 m. In 1995 she was second in the triple jump at both the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona and the World Championships in Gothenburg . In Gothenburg she also set a personal best with her width of 15.18 m.

At the European Indoor Championships in Stockholm in 1996, she won the gold medal in the triple jump with 14.54 m. In the same year she came in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in the long jump on the seventh and in the triple jump on the fourth place, but was subsequently disqualified for doping with Metandienon .

After her two-year ban she won the silver medal in the triple jump (14.94 m) and the bronze medal in the long jump (6.78 m) at the World Indoor Championships in Maebashi in 1999 . At the World Championships in Seville that year she was fifth in the triple jump with 14.54 m.

In early 2000, she won bronze medals in the long jump (6.80 m) and triple jump (14.63 m) at the European Indoor Championships in Ghent . Shortly before the start of the Olympic Games in Sydney , she was convicted of the illegal use of the anabolic steroid nandrolone and then banned for life.

Iwa Prandschewa is 1.74 m tall and weighed 58 kg at competition times.
