Jürgen Kleer
Jürgen Kleer (born October 25, 1956 in Köllerbach ) is a former German wrestler .
Career
Jürgen Kleer began wrestling as a teenager in Spiesen and worked for SC Spiesen until 1973 . In 1974 he moved to KSV Köllerbach . As a youth he wrestled in both Greco-Roman and free styles. As an adult, from 1975 onwards he only wrestled in the Greco-Roman style.
In 1973 he took 4th place in the German youth championship in the age group up to the age of 18 in free style in the weight class up to 44 kg body weight. In 1974 he reached with the German Youth Championship in two styles in the weight category to 48 kg body weight, respectively the third place and came in the same year at the German Junior Championship in the age group to age 20 in the paper weight behind Hans Huber from Bad Reichenhall on the 2 . Space.
In 1974 Jürgen Kleer started at an international championship, the Junior European Championship in Haparanda . In the paper weight he took 7th place in the Greco-Roman style.
In 1975 he became the first German senior paper weight champion. He won in paper weight ahead of Fritz Schmidt from ASV Schorndorf . He was also German champion in 1977 in paper weight and 1980 and 1981 in flyweight.
At the international championships, Jürgen Kleer mostly achieved placings between 5th and 9th place. An exception was the Junior European Championship in 1976, where he took 3rd place in paper weight behind Elnur Aliew from the Soviet Union and Umid Bekirow from Bulgaria and thus won a bronze medal. Also worth mentioning is the 5th place at the 1977 World Cup in Gothenburg in the paper weight category, where he won over James Howard from the United States and Jozsef Santha from Hungary .
After finishing his career as an active wrestler, Jürgen Kleer worked as a trainer in the Saarland region. In 2009 he coached the wrestlers of RSV Spiesen-Elversberg .
